PerSys Medical was founded in Houston, Texas in 1988, initially operating under the name Performance Systems. In 2003, the company narrowed its focus to the medical segment becoming a distributor for several manufacturing companies in the US and abroad. Most notably, PerSys introduced the Emergency Bandage, often called the “Israeli Bandage”, to the US Military. It has been a mainstay on the battlefield ever since.

In the decade following the introduction of the Emergency Bandage, PerSys centered its focus on Emergency Medicine and began to distribute multiple product lines to military, Law Enforcement, EMS, and Emergency Department personnel. The company began to build its own portfolio of medical devices by acquiring interest in the manufactures of its best-in-class product lines. By 2014, PerSys Medical became a majority stakeholder of Blizzard Protection Systems Ltd., Waismed Medical Ltd., and First Care Products Ltd., which solidified the company’s place in the market as well as their global reach.
