The Medtronic Onyx™ 18 Liquid Embolic System is a non-adhesive, injectable agent designed for controlled embolization of arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and hypervascular tumors in the peripheral and neurovasculature. Composed of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) with suspended micronized tantalum powder, Onyx™ 18 offers a lower viscosity formulation for deeper penetration and controlled deposition under fluoroscopic guidance.
