The Maloney configuration features a tapered distal end and flexible silicone construction with tungsten filling for complete radiopacity during fluoroscopic visualization. M-Flex® Blue Silicone Maloney bougies are used for dilation of upper esophageal webs, lower esophageal rings, caustic strictures, peptic esophageal strictures, and temporary relief associated with esophageal carcinoma.
