Medtronic Surgipro Polypropylene Monofilament Non-Absorbable Suture
Surgipro™ polypropylene sutures elicit a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture and pledget by fibrous connective tissue. Surgipro™ polypropylene sutures are not absorbed, nor is any significant change in strength retention known to occur in vivo.
Lifetime of these devices can be claimed to be 6-12 months with low dehiscence rate of less than 1% and can support extended healing.
