Medtronic SynchroMed III Programmable Implantable Intrathecal Pump
SynchroMed™ III is an implantable drug delivery system that helps manage chronic pain, cancer pain, and severe spasticity. Unlike systemic medications that must be absorbed systemically and must cross the blood-brain barrier to reach the receptors on the spinal cord to be effective, an implanted SynchroMed™ III implantable pump and catheter deliver prescribed amounts of medication directly into the cerebrospinal fluid in the intrathecal space bypassing the blood-brain barrier.
This system features a refill only physician workflow for more efficient programming, additional protections for patient data through enhanced cybersecurity, and improved electronics capable of delivering firmware upgrades to implanted devices going forward.
Together, these enhancements within the SynchroMed™ III system offer an enhanced platform compared to use of the SynchroMed™ II system.
Product Code: 8667-20
SynchroMed™ III pump with 20 mL reservoir capacities, redesigned with updated electronics and firmware to enhance cybersecurity and enable upgradability
